Update (4) - Cross Border Terrorism related Investigation - 5th November 2025

On Tuesday afternoon, 16th December 2025, Gardaí arrested a fourth male in Co. Limerick as part of this cross border terrorism related investigation.

The male, aged in his 30s, was detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at a Garda Station in the midlands.

He has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. The investigation continues to be led by An Garda Síochána Special Detective Unit.
