As part of an intelligence-led operation, €100,000 worth of herbal cannabis was seized in Limerick city today, Friday 22nd December 2025.
The seizure of approximately 5 kilograms of herbal cannabis was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Limerick Divisional Drug & Detective Units, and Revenue Customs Service.
The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
Gardaí arrested one woman (aged in her 20s) who is currently detained at a Garda station in Co. Limerick under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
