Gardaí and emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision on the R445 in Co. Kildare, Tuesday 30th December 2025.
The collision involved a car and a pedestrian and occurred at approximately 6pm on the R445 -Monasterevin Road, leaving Kildare Town in the direction of Monasterevin.
The pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s, has been pronounced deceased and his body remains at the scene.
No other injuries have been reported.
The road is currently closed between Monastervin and Kildare Town with local diversions in place. A technical examination will be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 5:00pm and 6:30pm this evening are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
