Update - Serious Assault, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 - 21st August 2025

Gardaí in Pearse Street continue to investigate a serious assault that occurred in the Temple Bar Square area of Dublin 2 in the early hours of Thursday morning, 21st August 2025.

This afternoon, Friday 29th August 2025, Gardaí arrested a male in his 20s in connection with this investigation. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Dublin.

The man, aged in his 40s, injured in this incident remains in a critical condition at Beaumont Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
