Court Appearance - Operation Tara - Seizure of €168,000 Cannabis, Three men Arrested, 13th August 2025

As part of an investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (North), Gardaí in Coolock have arrested three men and seized over €168,000 in suspected illegal cannabis, yesterday, Wednesday 13th August 2025.

During the course of the operation, a male (aged in his 20’s) was stopped and searched in the Dublin 5 area. Over €5,000 of cannabis herb was seized. The man was arrested in connection with the investigation and detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, at a Garda Station in the North Dublin area. He has since been charged, and is due to appear before the courts at a later date.

During follow-up searches at a number of locations in the Coolock, Dublin 5 area, cannabis with a value in excess of €163,000 was seized. Two men (aged in their 20’s and 40’s) were arrested in connection with the investigation, and detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, at a Garda Station in the North Dublin area. They have since been charged, and are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (CCJ No. 1), this morning, Thursday 14th August 2025, at approximately 10.30am.

The seized drugs are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

Investigations are ongoing.
