Update (2) Violent Incident Tullamore, County Offaly - 29th September 2023

Gardaí are continuing their investigation into all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in County Offaly on Friday afternoon, 29th of September, 2023.

A post-mortem by State Pathologist Dr.Heidi Okkers is ongoing this afternoon at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore and an examination of the scene by the Garda Technical Bureau remains ongoing.

A male child continues to be detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the Midlands.

A Garda spokesperson is not available.
