On Friday 22nd September 2023 An Garda Síochána provided assistance in the seizure of approximately 22.5kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €450,000 at Dublin Airport.
The illicit drugs were discovered when our partners in Revenue and detector dog, Blue, stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Los Angeles.
An Garda Síochána arrested a woman in her 30s who was taken to a Dublin Garda Station, where she was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. This person has since been before the courts. Investigations are ongoing.
