Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred this morning, Saturday, 25th March 2023 on the N62 at Doon Cross outside of Ferbane in Co.Offaly.
The collision, involving an articulate lorry and a car, occurred shortly after 8.30am. The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 70s, was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore where she later passed away from her injuries.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
The road remains closed with local diversions in place. A technical examination of the scene will take place later this evening by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
