Court Appearance – Firearm Seizure and Arrest, Limerick, Sunday 22nd January 2023

A man in his late teens is expected to appear before Limerick District Court on Tuesday 24th January 2023 charged in connection with a Garda investigation into the seizure of an improvised firearm in Limerick on Sunday 22nd January 2023.

The firearm was recovered during the course of a planned search of a residence in Thomondgate, Limerick on Sunday 22nd January 2023 by detective Gardaí at Mayorstone and other local Garda units.

The man was arrested and held at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act 1939.

The investigation is ongoing.
