Gardaí arrested three males following the theft of a vehicle and dangerous driving in the early hours of this morning, Friday 24th February 2023.
While on patrol at approximately 2am this morning, Gardaí signalled for a car to stop on the Dundrum Bypass. The vehicle failed to stop for Gardaí.
Gardaí pursued the vehicle which was observed driving at speed and in a dangerous manner. A managed containment operation ensued. A stinger device was successfully deployed on the Edmondstown Road and the vehicle was brought to a halt.
The car was subject to an unauthorised taking in south county Dublin yesterday, Thursday 23rd February 2023.
Three males (two teenage juveniles and a male in his 20s) were arrested by Gardaí and taken to Dundrum Garda Station.
The teenage juveniles were released from custody pending a referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme. The male, aged in his 20s, was charged in relation to this matter and appeared before Dún Laoghaire District Court this morning.
