Shooting Incident - Finglas, Dublin 11 - 13th May 2022

Gardaí are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the Finglas area of Dublin 11, this afternoon, Friday 13th May 2022.

Gardaí and emergency services attended a scene on St Margaret’s Road shortly after 5:00pm, where a man, aged in his 20s, was discovered with an apparent gunshot wound. He has since being taken to the Mater Hospital to be treated for his injuries which are understood to be non-life threatening.

The scene was preserved for a technical examination which has since concluded.

Two men, both aged in their 20s have been arrested in relation to this incident and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Finglas Garda station.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward. They are particularly keen for anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam) to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
