As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí attached to the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit seized combined drugs and tablets with a value in excess of €60,000 and arrested a man following a search in Galway City on Thursday, 19th May, 2022.
During the evening, Gardaí carried out a search under warrant at a domestic residence. Cocaine worth €55,000, Viagra tablets worth €6,000 and €600 in cannabis was seized. Gardaí also seized €4,000 in cash at the location.
A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and later detained at Galway Divisional Headquarters under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
The man has since been released. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
All of the drugs seized will now be sent for further analysis.
