Seizure of Firearm and Jeep, Greenhills, Dublin 12. 23rd March, 2022.

Gardaí have seized a submachine gun and ammunition following the search of a stolen jeep in the Greenhills area of Dublin, yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 23rd March 2022.

The jeep was seized and taken from the area for technical examination. A black uzi submachine gun with an attached silencer, a quantity of ammunition and a firearm magazine were discovered during this search.

The firearm and ammunition will now be forwarded to our Ballistics section to be forensically examined. 

No arrests have been made at this time.

Investigations are ongoing.
