Criminal Assets Bureau Search Operation, South Dublin, 18th May 2021

The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) conducted a search operation in South Dublin this morning 18/05/2021. The operation was conducted by Bureau Officers supported by the Emergency Response Unit, Crumlin District Detective Unit personnel and the Customs Dog Unit.

Two residential addresses were searched during this morning’s operation and the following items of note were seized -

• Documents and records regarding a property purchase

• Cash €1,950

• Mobile phones, electronic devices and hard drives

• €38,000 restrained in a bank account

This morning’s operation was conducted as part of an on-going Criminal Assets Bureau investigation in to the acquisition of a property believed to be funded with the proceeds of crime. The target of this morning’s operation is linked to a significant organised crime group involved in the trafficking of controlled drugs.
