€125,000 Seized and Restrained in Bank Accounts in CAB Search Operations in Counties Limerick and Westmeath, Friday, 4th June, 2021

The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) conducted two separate search operations in Limerick and Westmeath Garda Divisions on the morning of Friday, 4th June, 2021.

In Limerick, the Criminal Assets Bureau, with the assistance of the Regional Armed Support Unit, local Gardaí attached to the Limerick Division and the Revenue Customs Dog Unit, conducted a total of five searches.

One residential premises, one commercial premises and three professional premises were searched targeting the assets of persons involved in criminal activity in the Limerick region. 

The Westmeath search operation saw the Criminal Assets Bureau, assisted by the Regional Armed Support Unit and Gardaí from the Westmeath Division, conduct a search in the Mullingar area. This operation was also aimed at persons involved in criminal activity in the region.

During the course of today’s operations funds have been seized and restrained in various bank accounts totalling €125,000 along with other exhibits of significance to the investigations.
