Update - Discovery of a Body in Doneraile, Co. Cork on February 4, 2021

Gardaí continue to investigate the circumstance surrounding the discovery of a body in Doneraile Co. Corkon February 4, 2021.

Dr. Margaret Bolster has completed her examination of the scene this morning and the body has since been transferred to Cork University Hospital. A post mortem is scheduled to take place this afternoon. The gender and age of the deceased is still to be confirmed.

The Garda Technical Bureau are continuing to carry out an examination of the scene and two vehicles.

The man, aged in his 60s, who was rescued from the river continues to receive treatment in Cork University Hospital. His condition is believed to be stable.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Doneraile area between 3pm and 5pm, particular anyone with mobile phone footage or dashcam footage, to contact Fermoy Garda Station on 025-82100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.
