Witness Appeal: Serious Assault, Mountbellew, Co. Galway, 12th December 2021

Gardaí in Ballinasloe are appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious assault that occurred in Mountbellew, Co. Galway in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 12th December 2021 at 1.15am.

It is understood a male, aged in his 20s, was seriously injured during an altercation with a second male in The Square, Mountbellew at 1.15am this morning. He is currently in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin where his condition is described as serious.

Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this incident to come forward. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was socialising in Mountbellew on Saturday night, 11th December 2021 and who noticed any unusual activity to contact investigating Gardaí.

Any persons who were in The Square, Mountbellew between 12.45am and 1.30am this morning, Sunday 12th December 2021 should contact Gardaí.
