Update: Arson incident in Blackpool, Cork on 18th September, 2020.

Detective Gardaí in Watercourse Road have arrested a man in relation to a fire at a business premises on Redforge Road, Cork on 18th September, 2020.

The man, aged in his mid-20s, was arrested this morning, 5th October, and is currently detained at Mayfield Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí in Watercourse Road investigating the suspected arson incident that occurred at a business premises on Redforge Road, Cork in the early hours of Friday morning 18th September, 2020 at approximately 2.40a.m. are appealing for witnesses.

The investigation team are seeking any persons who may have been in the area of the Old Mallow Road/Dublin Hill, Cork city in the early hours of Friday morning between 2.15a.m. and 3a.m. and that may have witnessed anything unusual to come forward. Gardaí are also asking any road users, particularly any taxi drivers, who may have dash cam footage of that area to make it available.
