Drugs Seizure €60k and Arrests Co Limerick 16 May 2020

Gardaí from the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit have seized cannabis valued an €60k (analysis pending) and arrested two males during an operation in Limerick on Saturday, 16 May 2020.

Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in Henry Street arrested two males, aged 23 years and 17 years, at waste ground in Ballinacurra Gardens, Limerick City at approximately 2.15pm on the Saturday following the discovery of approximately 3 kilos of cannabis valued at €60,000 at the same location.

Both males were taken to Henry Street Garda Station and where they were detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The 23-year-old man has since been charged and is expected to appear at a special sitting of Ennis District Court this morning the 17th May 2020 at 11am. The 17 year old youth was released without charge. Files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
