Gardaí have arrested two males following a robbery and assault incident at a retail premises in the Shantalla Road area of Dublin 9 that occurred on 01/05/2020.
At approximately 9:40pm the two males, a man aged in his late teens and a male youth aged in his mid teens, entered the retail premises and the man aged in his late teens is reported to have assaulted a member of staff. Both males left the scene with a stolen bottle of wine. The injured party, a man aged in his 30s, received head injuries.
Members from the DMR Public Order Unit out on patrol carried out a search of the area locating and arresting the males a short time later. They were taken to Ballymun Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The male youth remains in Garda custody at this time. The man in his 20s has been charged in relation to the incident and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Court 4, this morning, 02/05/2020, at 10:30am.
