Arrests – Armed Robbery Bookmakers Glanmire 15th September 2018

Gardaí investigating an attempted armed robbery at a bookmakers in the Glanmire area of Cork that occurred on 15/09/2018 have today arrested two men in relation to the investigation.

The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested in the Donoughmore area of Cork and are currently detained at Mayfield Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939. 
 
 
 
Previous statement issued in September 2018 refers -

Gardaí in Mayfield, Cork are appealing to the public for assistance following an attempted robbery of a bookmakers shop at Crestfield, Glanmire on the 15/09/18.

At approximately 6.30pm three males wearing balaclavas entered the premises, two carrying hammers and one armed with a suspected firearm. Following a struggle with staff they left empty handed in a waiting black car. There was no shots fired during the incident.

Detectives in Mayfield District investigating the incident are appealing to the public for information -

1. Any information or witness sightings of the three male suspects in the Riverstown, Glanmire area between 6pm and 7pm on Saturday 15/9/2018

2. Any mobile phone or dashcam footage from the Riverstown/Glanmire/Sallybrook area between 6pm and 7pm on Saturday 15/9/2018

3. Any witness sightings of suspicious activity by a black saloon vehicle (Audi A4 or VW Passat) in the Riverstown/Glanmire/Sallybrook area between 6pm and 7pm on Saturday 15/9/18.
