Gardaí in Salthill, Galway are investigating a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 1.15a.m. this morning, Sunday 1st March, 2020 in the townland of Porridgetown, Oughterard, Galway.
A young female (in her teens) was fatally injured when the car she was a passenger in stuck a wall. She died at the scene. Her body has been removed to the Mortuary in University Hospital Galway where a post mortem will take place. The driver of the car (male 21 years) was uninjured.
Gardaí are appealing to any road users who may have travelled the road and can assist them or drivers who may have dash cam to contact them in Salthill Garda Station on 091 - 514720, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
