Gardaí in Ballyfermot are renewing their appeal for information in relation to the fatal shooting incident that occurred at a house in Croftwood Park, Ballyfermot this morning Monday, 27th July, 2020 at 11am.

A man (mid 50s) was fatally injured when he answered the front door of his home and received fatal gunshot wounds. His body has been removed from the scene and taken to the City Morgue where a post mortem is due to take place.

Gardaí in Ballyfermot are seeking information in relation to three separate locations and two vehicles which are believed to be involved in the incident:

Croftwood Park: This is the location of the house where the fatal shooting took place.

Le Fanu Drive/Killeen Road: It is believed that a blue Ford Fiesta left the scene of the shooting and travelled to Le Fanu Drive/Killeen Road. This car was located burnt out in the area.

Monksfield Walk/Monksfield Lawn, Clondalkin: A second car, a Silver Skoda Octavia, was in the area of Killeen Road and travelled to Monksfield Walk/Monksfield Lawn and then may have travelled through Parkwest or New Nangor Road to get to Woodford Estate.

The Silver Skoda Octavia was discovered abandoned in Monksfield Walk and was burnt out. It is believed a suspect left the area on foot towards the green area, adjacent to Monksfield Walk.

Gardaí are appealing to any motorist, cyclist or pedestrian who were in any of these areas between 10.30a.m. and 11.30a.m. this morning, that may have seen anything unusual or may have dash cam footage and/or phone camera footage, to contact them at Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01 666 7200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
