Witness Appeal: Fatal Road Traffic Collision, Kells, Co. Meath 19th December 2019 - 17th June 2020

Gardaí in Kells investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in the Derver, Carnaross area, Kells, Co. Meath at approximately 3.40pm on Thursday, 19th December 2019 are appealing to the public for information.

A white Citroen Berlingo van collided with a lorry on the N3 near Whitegate on the Meath / Cavan border. A man, aged in his 40s, was taken to Cavan General Hospital with serious head injuries. He was pronounced dead on December 23rd, 2019 as a result of the injuries sustained during the collision.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding this incident to come forward. Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who may have camera footage who were travelling between Kells, Co. Meath and Virginia, Co. Cavan on Thursday, 19th December between 3pm and 4.30pm.

Gardaí are anxious to speak with the occupants of a blue Skoda car (no further description) which was travelling northbound towards Virginia, Co. Cavan who may have witnessed the collision.
