Update and Arrest re Fatal Stabbing of Gareth Kelly (39 years), Brownsbarn Estate, Kingswood, Co. Dublin, 25th February 2020

Gardaí continue to investigate all circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing of 39 year old Gareth Kelly, which occurred in the Brownsbarn Estate, in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 25th February.

The body of the deceased has been removed to the Dublin City Morgue. A Post Mortem will be carried out by Acting State Pathologist, Dr Linda Mulligan tomorrow, Wednesday 26th February.
 
A female in her 30s arrested earlier today in relation to this incident, remains detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
 
The scene remains reserved and will remain cordoned off overnight.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Brownsbarn Estate and Kingswood area between the hours of 6am and 7am today 25th February 2020 who may have information in relation to this incident to come forward. Gardaí are particularly appealing to road users who may have camera footage. A family liaison officer has been appointed to the family and they continue to support the family.
