Two men arrested and charged - Aggravated Burglary in Cork on 27/10/19

Gardaí have arrested and charged two men in their late 20s in relation to an aggravated burglary at a house on Cherry Tree Road, Togher, Co Cork on the 27th October 2019.

Shortly before 3am, Gardaí received a report of a burglary after two men had entered a house on Cheery Tree Road. The two men entered the house and assaulted the occupant, a man in his late 20s, who was later brought to Cork University Hospital with what is believed to be a stab wound. He has since been discharged from hospital.

A preliminary investigation was carried out by detectives in the Serious Crime Unit, Cork City and two men were arrested on the 27th and 28th October 2019.

The two men were detained at Togher and Bridewell Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and have since been charged to appear before Cork City District Court this morning, 29th October 2019.
