Court appearance - Seizure of two firearms in Ballynanty, Limerick on the 19/11/19.

Gardaí in Mayorstone investigating the seizure of two firearms during the search of a house in Ballynanty have charged one man in connection with the seizure.

The man (50s) that was arrested and detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939 has been charged and is due to appear before Limerick District Court, tomorrow Friday 22nd November 2019 at 10.30a.m.

The other two men have been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí in Mayorstone have seized two firearms during a search of a house under warrant in Ballynanty in the north side of Limerick City.

Yesterday evening, Tuesday 19th November, 2019 at approximately 7.30p.m. a search was carried out by Detectives of Mayorstone Garda station assisted by the Divisional Drug unit members and Regional Armed Support Unit.  Three men (50s, 20s & a teenager) were arrested at the scene and taken to Henry Street Garda station and Roxboro Road Garda station where they are all detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

Investigations ongoing and there is no photograph of the firearms.
