Court appearance - Drug Seizure and Arrest in Ballyfermot, Dublin on the 13/5/19.

The man (48 years) arrested in relation to the drug seizure by the Garda National Drugs and Organized Crime Bureau in Ballyfermot on Monday 13th May 2019 is expected to appear before Blanchardstown District Court, Court Number 1 at 10.30a.m. this morning, Wednesday 15th May, 2019 charged in relation to the seizure.

As part of an intelligence led operation, targeting organised criminality, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out a search of a residence in the Ballyfermot area, last night Monday 13th May 2019.

During the course of the operation Gardaí seized heroin to the value of €280,000 and cocaine to the value of €12,000 (pending analysis). A man (48 years) was arrested at the scene and is currently detained pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Ballyfermot Garda Station.

Speaking today Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll of Special Crime Operations said "An Garda Síochána is committed to disrupting the activities of organised criminals supplying drugs to our communities. This seizure of a substantial quantity of heroin and cocaine is significant in disrupting this supply.”
