Arrests Re: Criminal Damage Westway View, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15

Gardaí investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire to a house in Westway View, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 on Saturday. May 4th 2019 have arrested two (2) males in connection with this incident. Both men were arrested yesterday afternoon, Sunday May 5th 2019 in the Blanchardstown area and detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984. Gardaí carried out a number of subsequent searches in connection with this investigation.

Both men have been released without charge and a file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigations are continuing.

Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire to a house in Westway View, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 that occurred this morning Saturday 4th May, 2019 at approximately 11.30a.m.

Two people were in the house at the time of the incident but managed to escape from the house uninjured.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses in the Westway and Corduff areas that may have seen anything unusual between 11.15am and 11.45am this morning, or who may have seen four men who it is believed to have fled the scene on foot. These men left Westway View towards the green area which leads to Sheephill Avenue. All four men were wearing dark clothing with hooded jumpers and tracksuit bottom type trousers.
