European Arrest Warrant executed in Portugal - 14/3/19

Gardaí have executed a European Arrest Warrant a man (30s) and a woman (20s) in relation to the seizure of approximately €187,000 worth of suspected Cannabis herb and Cannabis plants in Dunmanway, Co Cork on the 18th January 2016.

In 2016, Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in West Cork carried out a search at a house in Dunmanway, Co Cork and discovered a grow house containing €187,000 worth of cannabis herb and cannabis plants. Four men and a woman were arrested and detained at Bandon and Bantry Garda stations and later released without charged for the preparation of a file for the DPP.

On 13th March 2019 Detectives from the Divisional Drugs Unit in West Cork executed a European Arrest Warrant on a man and a woman in Lisbon, Portugal.

They have since be brought to Bandon Garda Station and are due to appear before Bantry District Court at 2pm today, 14th March 2019.

Note:

Of the 5 suspects arrested:

-Two are due in Bantry District Court at 2pm today 14th March 2019

-One man was before the courts.

-One European arrest warrant is still outstanding.

-No prosecution against the final suspect.
