Public appeal in relation to shooting incident at Blakestown way, Blanchardstown on Saturday 1/6/19

Gardaí in Blanchardstown are investigating the shooting of a male at Blakestown Way, Blanchardstown at approximately 5.20pm on Saturday the 1st June 2019.

Gardaí are seeking the assistance of the public and are anxious to speak to:

1. Anybody that was in the Blakestown Way area at the time of the shooting or in the hour preceding the incident and if they observed anyone acting suspiciously.
2. Any persons that were in the Lidl supermarket or the carpark or the immediate vicinity at the time of the incident.
3. Any motorists that drove along Blakestown way on the afternoon of the 1st  of May 2019 who may have had dashcam footage in use. 
4. The suspected getaway vehicle was a Navy Blue/Black Toyota Avensis (06 MH 1181).
5. The car was purchased on the 27th May. Did anyone observe this car between the 27th May and the 1st June 2019? This vehicle was later found burnt out at the Miller’s Glen area of Swords on Sat 1st June 2019.

Did anyone in that area observe the car prior to it being set on fire?

Gardaí are at the scene of a shooting on Blakestown Road, Blanchardstown that occurred at approximately 5.20pm today 1st June 2019. A male in his 40’s has been taken to hospital. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
