Court appearance - Public Order Incident at licensed premises off Grafton Street on the 7/7/19

Gardaí investigating a public order incident which took place at a premises on Adams Court, off Grafton Street, Dublin 1 in the early hours of Sunday morning 7th July 2019 have charged a man in relation to the incident.

The man (mid 20s) was arrested yesterday morning and detained at Pearse Street Garda Station under Section 30, Offences Against the State Act, 1939.  He has since been charged and will appear before Criminal Courts of Justice, Court Number 3, this morning Friday 19th July 2019.

Gardai attached to Pearse Street Garda Station are investigating a public order incident which took place on Grafton Street in the early hours of the 7th July 2019 (Saturday night/ Sunday morning). Just before 1am, a large group of males attempted to enter a licensed premises on Adam Court, off Grafton Street Dublin 2.

Following a public order disturbance with security personnel the males ran from the scene onto Grafton street.
 
Gardai are aware that a number of patrons of licensed premises in the area, were present in a designated smoking area and may have witnessed the incident. Some of these persons may have taken mobile phone footage of the incident. This was also a busy time on Grafton Street in general.
 
Gardai are appealing to any persons on Grafton Street, or in the Adam Court area, between 00.30hrs – 01.30hrs on 7th July 2019, in particular any person who has mobile phone footage from Adam Court or from the Grafton Street area in general during these times to come forward.
