Gardaí investigating the fatal stabbing of a man (45 years of age) that occurred at approximately 4am this morning, Friday 19th July 2019 at Clinchs Court, North Strand, Dublin 1 have arrested a man (45 years of age).
The arrest was made this morning and he is currently detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The post mortem is due to take place later today by Dr. Margaret Bolster, State Pathologist.
The scene remains preserved and the technical bureau are currently at scene.
Gardaí are appealing to any persons who may have been in the area between 3.30a.m. and 4.15a.m. or any passing taxis with dash cam footage to contact Mountjoy Garda Station on 01.6668600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal stabbing of a man (mid 40s) that occurred at 4am this morning, Friday 19th July, 2019 at Clinchs Court, North Strand, Dublin 1.
Gardaí were alerted to the incident and the man was seriously injured and removed to the Mater Hospital where he later passed away. A second man (mid 40s) was also injured and removed to St. James Hospital and is being treated for his injuries.
The scene is currently preserved and the State Pathologist has been notified.
