The three men (44, 27 and 23 years) arrested in relation to the drug seizure at the two houses in the townland of Killasser, Swinford, Co. Mayo on Saturday evening, 5th January, 2019 are expected to appear before a sitting of Galway District Court this morning, Monday 7th January, 2019 at 10.30a.m. charged in connection with this seizure.

As part of ongoing operations by the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Mayo Division two houses were searched in the townland of Killasser, Swinford, Co. Mayo yesterday evening, Saturday 5th January, 2019 at approximately 6p.m.
As a result of this search, Cocaine plants at different stages of growth (subject to analysis) was seized with an estimated street value of over €300,000. Three men (aged 44, 27 and 23 years) were arrested at the scene in connection with this investigation and are currently detained at Ballina Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2- Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
