Two Robberies and Arrests Dublin Friday 20th December 2019

Gardaí at Dun Laoghaire and Terenure are investigating two robberies at two separate retail premises which occurred yesterday, Friday 20th December 2019.

 

At approximately 3.45pm a lone male raider entered a shop on Lower Rathmines Rd armed with a knife and demanded cash from staff. He left the premises without taking anything and ran in the direction of Grove Park/ Grove Road. Gardaí were immediately alerted to the incident and were assisted by members of the public. A 23 year old man was arrested a short time later in connection with this investigation and taken to Terenure Garda Station. He is expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Parkgate St, Dublin 8 at 10.30am this morning, Saturday 21st December 2019.

 

In the second incident, Gardaí were notified of a robbery at a Pharmacy on Johnstown Road, Cabinteely in Dublin. A male entered the shop armed with a knife and demanded items. He left the scene with a number of medical products and was pursued by an off duty member of An Garda Síochána. A short time later a 43 year old man was arrested in connection with this incident. He was taken to Dun Laoghaire Garda Station and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30am this morning.
