Witness appeal - Fatal Shooting Incident at Caravan Park in Clogherhead, Louth on the 27/8/19

Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of a 29 year old male in Clogherhead, Co. Louth, on Tuesday the 27th August have made an appeal for information. Keith Brannigan was shot at a caravan park in Clogherhead at approximately 2.50pm.

The gunman fled the scene in a red Lexus (05 C 24473) which was later found burnt out on the Thurles Road, Whiteriver, Dunleer. The suspects are then believed to have then transferred into a second vehicle, a black Toyota Avensis (04 WH 8024) which was found abandoned in the Clonmore Estate, Ardee, Louth.

No arrests have been made to date and investigations are ongoing. 

An incident room has been established at Drogheda Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for any persons who were in the area who may have noticed anything suspicious or any motorists who may have Dashcam footage to contact Drogheda Garda Station on 041 987 4200, The Garda Confidential Line on 18000 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal shooting incident that occurred at approximately 2.50pm today Tuesday 27th August 2019 at a caravan park on the Clogherhead to Termonfeckin road at Clogherhead, County Louth.

A male in his early 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

An incident room has been established at Drogheda Garda Station. Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, particularly anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the Clogherhead area earlier today.
