Arrests - Illegal Money Lending in Sligo on the 2/4/19

As part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of illegal money lending in County Sligo, Gardaí have today arrested three people on suspicion of Extortion Contrary to Section 17 of the Criminal Justice Public Order Act 1994.

A male aged 46 is currently being detained at Ballymote Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A female aged 42 is currently being detained at Carrick on Shannon Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A 17 year old female also arrested has been released from custody and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
