Update 23rd September 2018 re cash seizure Wexford 22nd September
Gardaí have arrested a 39 year old woman in connection with a cash seizure in Wexford on the 22nd September 2018. The female is detained in Wexford Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. This brings the total number of arrests to five. One man has been released pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions and four remain in custody.

The current total of €1.7 million was seized yesterday in relation to the three searches.

Gardaí have arrested a fourth man in relation to the targeting of organised criminal activity. Officers attached to Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau conducted further searches in Wexford this evening and seizure a further amount of cash.

The man (44 years) was arrested on suspicion of Money Laundering offences in Wexford and is currently detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Wexford Garda Station. All four prisoners remain in custody.

It is estimated that a total of €1.2 million euro was seized today in relation to the three searches.
