Update - Discovery of the body of Amanda Carroll, Cabra, Dublin on the 21/10/18

Gardai investigating the discovery of the body of Amanda Carroll at an apartment in Homestead Court, Quarry Road, Cabra are now conducting a murder investigation.

The post mortem has been completed and the results have been passed to the investigation team. For operational reasons the results are not being released.

The male in his 30s remains in custody.

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a body of a woman at an apartment in Homestead Court, Quarry Road, Cabra, Dublin 7.  The body of the woman in her early 30s was discovered shortly after 2.30p.m. this afternoon Sunday 21st October, 2018 by Dublin Fire Brigade who alerted Gardaí.
 
The scene has been preserved and the Garda Technical Bureau are carrying out an examination of the scene at this time.  The body remains at scene and will be moved shortly where a post mortem examination is due to be carried out in the morning - Monday 22nd October, 2018.

A man in his mid 30s has been arrested in relation to this investigation and is currently detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Investigations are ongoing.
