Fatal road traffic collision N80 Simmons Mill Cross 6th November 2018

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the 6th of November 2018 on the N80 on Simmons Mill Cross Road Co Laois. The two cars collision occurred shortly before 9am.

The driver, a man in his 40s, was fatally injured in a collision with another car. The occupants of the other car, a female and her child, are reported to have received minor injuries. They were taken to Portlaoise General Hospital and Crumlin Hospital.

The road at the scene of the incident is currently closed to facilitate an examination by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Investigations are on going.
