Drug seizure and arrests at Dublin Airport on the 16/11/18

On the 16th November 2018, Gardai from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau along with officers from Revenue's Customs Service conducted an intelligence led operation at Dublin Airport.

A woman in her 50s was detained having entered the arrivals hall and was met by a man in his 30s. The woman was accompanied by a young child when she arrived. All individuals were non Irish nationals and the woman and young child had just arrived from Lahore, Pakistan.

Following an examination of her luggage by customs, 15Kgs of Heroin with an estimated street value of €2.1 Million was seized.

Both the male and female were arrested by Gardai and are currently detained at Ballymun Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
