Intelligence led Operation and Arrests in Eastern Region, 9th March, 2018

As a result of an intelligence led operation conducted by Gardaí in the Eastern Region and the South Eastern Region, this afternoon, Friday 9th March, 2018 three men were arrested.

A search, under warrant, took place at a house in rural Co. Laois near the Tipperary border and three men were arrested at the scene and a large quantity of stolen property recovered.

The three men (27, 27 & 31 years) are currently detained at Portlaoise, Tullamore and Athlone Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 50, Criminal Justice Act, 2007 and can be detained for up to 7 days.

Investigations are on going.
