An Garda Siochana & Revenue Customs Drug Seizure, Dublin Port 31st March, 2018.

As part of an ongoing joint investigations targeting Drug importations through Dublin Port, a Joint Intelligence led operation was conducted by the Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau this morning 31st March 2018.

During this operation a truck was stopped and searched and a significant quantity of controlled drugs were seized. It is estimated that cocaine, heroin and ketamine (subject to analysis) with an estimated value in excess of €2.5m was seized by Customs.

A 55 year old non-national male was arrested as part of the operation by Gardaí and is currently detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice ( Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Store Street Garda Station.

Investigations are continuing.
