Fatal Road Traffic Collision on the N71, Ballydehob, Cork on the 14/6/18.

Gardaí in Bantry are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on N71 at Bawnshanaclogh, Ballydehob on Thursday 14th June, 2018 at approximately 9.50p.m.

The two vehicle collision occurred when both vehicle collided. The male driver (80 years) was fatally injured and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will take place today. His 10 year old male passenger was injured and taken to CUH with non life threatening injuries. The other male driver (42 years) was the sole occupant of his vehicle and received minor injuries.

The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will conduct their investigations this morning.
