Death of a male in Ballincollig Co Cork on 10th June 2018

Gardai in Gurranabraher, Co Cork are investigating a serious assault on a male at his house in Ballincollig, Co. Cork on the 10th June 2018.

It is believed that shortly after 3am a number of men with weapons went into the injured party's house and seriously assaulted the injured male and his partner. The assailants then left the  house. The injured parties were taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. The male's injuries are very serious, his partner's, a female in her 30's, injuries are not believed to be life threatening.  

There was another adult female( early 30's) and two children under 6 years in the house at the time of the incident and they were uninjured.

The house is currently preserved for a technical examination, a car was found burnt out a number of KM away in Waterfall and this scene is also being preserved for a technical examination.

Cork on the 10th June 2018 can confirm that the male has passed away and a Post Mortem will be carried out later, we don't have a time or date for the PM yet. The female is currently been treated for her injuries.
