Further Update - Sudden death in Ashbourne, Meath on the 11/12/18

The male in his 30s has been released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The male in his 30s who was arrested in relation to the sudden death of a 65 year old male on the 11th of December 2018 remains in Garda custody.

Gardai in Ashbourne investigating the death of a 65 year old male on the 11th December 2018 have arrested a 33 year old male.

At approximately 12.30am on the 11th of December, Gardai and an ambulance were called to a house at Johnswood Drive, Ashbourne. The male was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene, his body has been taken to the city morgue where a post mortem will be carried out on the 12th of December.

A 33 year old male has been arrested and he is currently detained at Ashbourne Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

The house was preserved for a Technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
