Gardaí in Carlow investigating a serious assault in Carlow town on the 2/4/18 have arrested two men (both in their 20s) in connection with this investigation. Both men were arrested yesterday, Tuesday April 3rd 2018 and are detained in Kilkenny and Thomastown Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations are continuing.

A male in his early 20s sustained serious head injuries during an altercation involving a number of people shortly after 1am. The injured man was removed to St. Luke's General Hospital, Kilkenny where his condition is understood to be serious.
