Gardaí in Bailieboro are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Dublin Road, Kingscourt, Cavan in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 28th April, 2018.
At approximately 1.55a.m. a male driver (18 years) was fatally injured when the car he was driving was in collision with a second vehicle. The male driver (19 years) of the second car was uninjured. The body of the deceased has been removed to Cavan General Mortuary where a post mortem will take place.
The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by the Garda forensic collision investigators, who are at scene. Local diversions are in place.
