Arrest in Clondalkin, Dublin re assault and robberies on the 30/3/18

Gardaí investigating an attempted robbery and assault which occurred at Mill Park, on the Old Nangor Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 on the 30th March 2018 at approximately 10pm where a woman in her 30s received non-life threatening stab wounds, and an attempted armed robbery at a food outlet on the Old Nangor Road Clondalkin that occurred on 31st March 2018 at approximately 10pm, and an armed robbery at a premises on Ninth Lock Road Clondalkin, Dublin 22 that occurred on 1st April 2018 at approximately 10pm, have arrested and charged and 18 year old man.

A search of the Grand Canal area of the Fonthill Road was carried out on 1st April 2018 by Gardai assisted by the Air Support Unit and the regional Armed Response Unit.

A man was arrested and detained under Section 4 at Clondalkin Garda Station in relation to the incidents outlined above. He was subsequently charged with Assault Causing Harm, and three counts of Attempted Robbery.

The man appeared at the Criminal Courts of Justice on 2nd April 2018 at 10:30am and was remanded to Cloverhill prison.
