Organised Crime Operation West Dublin - 19th September 2017

On Tuesday 19th September 2017, as part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the west Dublin area, a search operation was carried out at an address in Blanchardstown. The operation was led by detectives from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

During the course of this search a Baikal pistol and ammunition was seized along with a stolen high powered motor cycle. A quantity of Cocaine and Cannabis with a street value of approximately €30,000 (analysis pending) was also seized.

A 22-year-old man was arrested as part of the investigation and is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939/98.

Investigations are continuing and further updates will follow.
